FAQ’s, Policy & Rules: Fresh Faces Project Annual Awards Ceremony

Thank you for your interest in the Fresh Faces Project annual awards ceremony! We greatly appreciate your support and interest in our cause! Effective today, October 18, 2022, these policies and rules are in effect for all honoree participants in any awards ceremonies going forward. Any honoree who RSVP’s “yes (either via the Facebook event thread that is created annually or in conversation with our Founder) acknowledges and accepts these policies & rules. This policy does not apply to people who were just coming as supporters/spectators/UNPAID media.

COST

As this is integral to our uniqueness and mission to make accolades and formal recognition more accessible to up-and-coming creatives and entrepreneurs, the ceremony remains completely free with no ticket sales, nomination fees or entry fees.

NOMINATION

We accept nominations year-round for our annual awards ceremony and encourage you to apply! Please submit a bio, links to your professional website and social media to our Founder at missworld2020@gmail.com

PLUS +1s

Due to a history of the majority of +1’s not showing up in previous years, we will no longer be allowing +1’s to anyone outside of minors, those traveling from outside the Greater Chicagoland area, Royal Ambassadors and Lifetime Achievement Honorees. The event is and has always been invite-only since we do not sell tickets for it, so please respect this by not inviting anyone to the event unless you have been granted a +1.

HONOREE CANCELLATIONS

Due to an unprecedented number of last-minute cancellations and no-shows at the 2022 awards ceremony (as well as fairly large amounts of last-minute cancellations and no-shows in previous years), we have now implemented a strict cancellation policy to incentivize attendance and minimize financial loss and wasted space at our events as we are 100% self-funded. Our small yearly budget of $3,000 to $4,000 produces an entirely free event with awards, full buffet and dessert, on site photography, lots of major media coverage, liquor and other drinks. Thus, we can no longer afford to rely on the honor system that nominees will understand this and honor their RSVP unless absolutely necessary to cancel, since we've seen that isn't true.

The vast majority of awards ceremonies, especially those whom get as much major media coverage as we do, charge entry fees, nomination fees AND ticket sales that all mitigate the costs and even allow them to profit from their eventBecause we make our event completely free to maximize accessibility for honorees, this policy serves to do that. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS, so please read below:

Mandatory Cancellation Time Frame To Avoid This Policy:

Invitations for honorees are sent out at least 2 months in advance. Because awards, crowns and sashes are not ordered until 6 weeks prior to the event, you have until then to cancel or decline for any reason via Facebook message or email to missworldan2020@gmail.com to not be held accountable by this policy.

If you never RSVP, either in conversation with our Founder or through the Facebook event thread, you are not held accountable to this policy.

Cancellations Between 3 and 6 weeks Prior to Event

Cancellations between 3 and 6 weeks prior to the event may be excused (where the honoree is still eligible for participation/nomination at future events) for only the following circumstances:

Loss of your source of employment (this is not a valid exception for "last minute" cancellations, as by that period, the honoree would've had ample time to assess/budget their finances)

Natural disaster in your area where travel is extremely difficult or unavailable (for those coming from outside the Greater Chicagoland area)

Hospitalization of the honoree or their child where the honoree is incapable of attending

Death of an immediate relative or significant other directly before the event

A traumatizing life event occuring directly before the event such as robbery or assault

Last Minute Cancellations

“Last Minute” refers to any cancellation that occurs 2 weeks or less from the event. Last minute cancellations by honorees for any reason other than below will disqualify them for them from nomination going forward.

A positive Covid test of you or someone you live with (suddenly feeling “sick” the day of or night before is not an exception, a positive Covid test must be had)

Severe weather complications where travel to the event is extremely difficult or unavailable

Hospitalization of the honoree or their child where the honoree is incapable of attending

Death of an immediate relative or significant other directly before the event

A traumatizing life event occuring directly before the event such as robbery or assault

No Shows

No Shows who do not have the decency to contact us to cancel ahead of time will be barred from any future events, both as an honoree and a +1. The only exception for this is hospitalization of the honoree or their child during the time of the event where the honoree was incapable of reaching out, A traumatizing life event occuring directly before the event such as robbery or assault

or death of an immediate relative or significant other directly before the event.

We DO NOT mail awards, crowns or sashes because that disincentivizes attendance and is unfair to those who made the effort to show up. If you can not physically be present at the event to accept your award and/or title, you forfeit it entirely.
