The 2026 Kids Multicultural World Festival

Embracing Heritage, Building Confidence: The 2026 Kids Multicultural World Festival

In an era where understanding and empathy are more valuable than ever, one organization is turning the runway into a classroom for global citizenship. Kids Multicultural World (KMW), a cultural activism organization and leadership focused talent academy, has completed its highly anticipated 2026 Chicago fashion show. Far from a typical beauty pageant or extra curricular event, this event serves as a vibrant platform for uniting children from diverse backgrounds, fostering self-esteem, and championing a mission that goes well beyond the spotlight. Our Founder, Dr. Calynn Lawrence, was honored to receive their Global Cultural Activist Award for her long time support of the organization! She also got to host the red carpet with her best friend, Shae James.

A Runway with a Purpose

Founded in 2017 by Queen Amb. Dr. Krystal Okeke'Chanchangi, Kids Multicultural World was established with a clear and urgent mission: to "unite a diverse nation of kids" and end discrimination, bullying, and segregation through cultural education. The 2026 festival promised to be a spectacular display of this vision.

The 2026 Chicago show featured children ages 0 to 17 showcasing traditional attire and modern fashion that represents their unique heritages from all over the world. Unlike standard fashion shows that prioritize conformity, KMW encourages models to take pride in their roots. By allowing children to walk the runway in clothing that tells the story of their ancestry, the organization transforms the event into a live celebration of global unity. It is a visual lesson for both the participants and the audience that beauty comes in every color, culture, and tradition. To date, they've worked with kids from nearly 200+ heritages of all ages and races.

Real Impact: Charity and Global Outreach

While the glitz of the runway grabs attention, the heart of the organization beats for those who may never walk a red carpet. KMW is deeply committed to charitable work that creates tangible change for vulnerable populations.

Over the past year, the organization hosted and sponsored six youth sports initiatives, including para soccer, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and tennis, serving children ages 13 and under. These programs reached over 676 young athletes, raising funds to support educational sponsorships and essential personal needs for children and their families.

Through the Kids Multicultural Awards Initiative, the organization has also supported multiple schools in Nigeria, providing free meals and paying school fees for over 2,789 children in the past two years, ensuring access to education for children from financially disadvantaged families.

Beyond Africa, Kids Multicultural World remains committed to community service in the United States, giving back to homeless and underserved communities across Las Vegas, Chicago, and Texas.

Driven by the belief that every child deserves opportunity, dignity, and hope, Kids Multicultural World continues to empower the next generation—globally and locally.

Furthermore, the organization’s domestic work operates as a form of "cultural activism." By actively combating bullying through exposure and education, they aim to lower the rates of hate crimes and discrimination among youth—a preventative form of charity that benefits society at large.

Why Your Child Should Participate

For parents, the decision to involve a child in Kids Multicultural World often stems from a desire to build character rather than a modeling portfolio. Testimonials from past participants highlight a profound transformation in their children. Parents report that their children have "blossomed," gaining new friends from different backgrounds and developing a "sense of community" that is truly established.

Participation offers children:

  • Confidence: Walking the runway provides affirmation of their place and value in society, helping them overcome shyness and social anxiety.

  • Cultural Competence: Children learn to appreciate not just their own history, but the histories of their peers, fostering a generation that is naturally inclusive and empathetic.

  • Skill Building: Beyond the show, KMW offers mentorship, acting, and modeling classes that teach discipline, public speaking, and self-presentation.

A Future of Unity

The annual Kids Multicultural World Festival is more than an event; it is a movement. It invites families to step away from the digital screens and engage in real-world connection, celebrating the differences that make us unique while acknowledging the humanity that binds us together. Whether you are in America or internationally based, participating in KMW is a step toward a more inclusive future for the next generation and building a global network of empowered child leaders.
